While being into my bachelors program, I started to have visuals of a slight idea of how my kind of profession would be. What I wanted was a profession that could have me keep learning different things, for different people, at different places, almost everyday of the year. The profession must be so that I may be recognized by my own name. A profession that does require me to have a decent discipline and consistency but yet not formal enough to bore out my routine. A profession that could allow me freedom to direct the game as I consider it so.
Despite keeping all these attributes of a quality profession in mind, I was not yet able to actually decide an exact profession. But unknowingly, the law of attraction had already begun to act upon me. It then made me to meet a teacher whose few words led me to a whole new subject to research on. He said, “every night, the time when you are just about to fall asleep, but somehow manage to stay awake, if in those moments you can manage to uphold what you want in life or the next day, it’ll be fitted in your subconscious mind and you won’t help it but to achieve.”
“A subconscious mind! What exactly could it be?”, I started to think as this was the first time I heard these words. So I returned to home from class and began to see YouTube videos one by one and I didn’t feel like quit reading about it since that day! Then I somehow managed to get a soft copy of The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale, in which I read about how mind can communicate to mysterious energies that are even capable of travelling from one mind to another. Also, what I want to tell you here is that I wasn’t the only student who was present at that class, but yes, I was the only one holding a big amount of fuel, accumulated from time to time that just needed a spark to ignite. And those words were a spark for me!
Well, I began to see numerous videos of all sorts, related to such topics. As I was progressing reading these things, I started to observe the practical implications of such theories or sciences. Further, being a student at that time of Chartered Accountancy Intermediate program from The Institute of Chartered Accountant of Pakistan (ICAP), I decided to apply these knowledge into studies to identify the problems first and then tried to figure out its answers for myself and most of all, for the fellow classmates.
The days passed by and I, not being in rush for anything, slowly and gradually started to take interests in live motivational and inspirational speeches, business coaching and personality and soft skills development. I even started to admire it as a profession but never knew where and how to start. I even attended few seminars, not to get inspired, but to get the dynamics of public speaking and training. As my early education was not from an elite form, I lacked so much in confidence and had no nerves to go up to a stage and speaking too!!! No way!
But as I already had started to observe what had become of my interest, I began to collect all sorts of energies and non verbal cues and the dynamics and mechanics of the profession. I began to help so many fellow students by listening to their different problems and giving them some insight of the possible causes and then asked them to try some well framed and customized solutions.
Then there came a time when I started to think about writing a piece, in which I would try to condense all the information that I worked on in last couple of years and put them into study perspective….. And I started to write an article. I wrote it with all my care and sent it to The Pakistan Accountant magazine, a quarterly publication by the ICAP. And Voila! I got it published in its Jan-Mar 2016 issue.
Appreciation from friends and some teachers started to cherish me, who wouldn’t like it. But then, there came a message on Facebook. It was from none other than one of the principal of the college from where I was taking the classes for my finals. In his message, he appreciated me in few words and asked for my cell number. I had a mixed feeling of happiness and shock and replied instantly with my cell number. After couple of days, my phone rang and there was my teacher plus Co-principal of the college.
He first appreciated me and then asked me for something that I could not imagine about him asking me. Guess what? He asked me to deliver a motivational speech related to my article in his college, in front of any number of students who would want to come. I was in a shock. I stuttered and thanked him so much and told him that, “this is the thing I always wanted to do.” As I am writing this article in August 2017, I have already done two of such motivational sessions, along with different projects currently under discussion and more workshops related to personal development.
What I want to tell you is the strange power of Law of Attraction and the principle of Auto-Suggestion. If you just keep on holding a clear visual image of what you want to become or what you want to have, you’ll start to receive ideas that sometimes were never considered by you. You’ll being to see the ways that may take you to your goals. It’ll help in create the focus and interest you need to clearly choose the right doors among all others. I still don’t know how, why and what led me to start to write my first article and absolutely could have never ever figure out that a simple article could push me to the first steps of what I really want to become.
Always remember to hold a clear vision of yourself of what you want to become and the question of how will begin to resolve itself through the power of auto-suggestions.
